Dr Henrik Pieper is Senior Manager and Technical Director for Large Heat Pumps. He specialises in sustainable heating concepts for the integration of renewable energies, in particular through the use of natural heat sources. In recent years, he has been involved in the planning of Germany’s first seawater heat pump in a larger heating network in Neustadt in Holstein. His other areas of expertise include the application and implementation of transformation plans and feasibility studies in accordance with the Federal Funding for Efficient Heating Networks (BEW) Module I.

In addition, the expert, who is in demand throughout Europe, plays a key role in important research projects such as OptInAquiFer and Heat transition: Strategies for the use of climate-neutral district heating technologies. Dr Henrik Pieper has several years of international experience and has worked on various projects in Denmark and Estonia, among other places, on the integration of heat sources and sinks into district heating and cooling networks using large heat pumps and the integration of GIS. He holds a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy and a PhD in Thermal Energy Systems.
