Engineering: From analysis to implementable planning

In the field of engineering & planning, HIC CONSULTING translates strategic goals into technically sound concepts. We plan and evaluate energy and heating systems throughout the entire project cycle – from feasibility and economic analyses to detailed technical planning.

Tailor-made system solutions

A particular focus is on large heat pumps and large heat storage systems, including planning of service phases 1–4, technical due diligence and economic evaluation. In addition, we develop municipal heating plans, support the transformation of district heating systems, design solutions for decarbonising industrial process heat, and create energy system plans and models.

Practice-oriented engineering

Our work is manufacturer-independent, systemically conceived and consistently focused on feasibility. We develop solutions that work technically, are economically viable and can be reliably integrated into existing infrastructures.

Comprehensive expertise for all project planning phases of large heat pumps: from feasibility to service phases 1–4 to economic feasibility studies and technical due diligence – as a reliable basis for investment and implementation decisions

Planning and evaluation of large-scale heat storage across all relevant service phases, supplemented by economic analyses and technical due diligence to secure projects

Systematic investigation of technical, economic and regulatory framework conditions to evaluate feasibility, potentials and options for action

Development of integrated energy concepts for neighbourhoods to ensure climate-neutral supply for existing and new neighbourhoods – taking into account heat, electricity, infrastructure, economic efficiency and regulatory conditions

Development of municipal heating plans as a strategic basis for climate-neutral heat supply – technically sound, practical and based on experience from over 25 heating planning projects throughout Germany

Support for the transformation of existing district heating systems, including the development of BEW transformation plans (Module I), as well as the planning of routes and network expansions from a technical, economic and regulatory perspective

Analysis and modelling of complex energy systems to evaluate scenarios, system effects and long-term development options – with a high level of in-house expertise and using both commercially available and custom-developed tools

Analysis and planning of solutions for decarbonising industrial process heat – tailored to specific process requirements, temperature levels and site conditions, and evaluated in economic and systemic terms
